Originally founded in 2005 as the West Michigan Film & Video Alliance, a group of community focused media industry professionals in West Michigan met in August of 2022 and reignited this veteran non-profit organization as the Film & Media Alliance of West Michigan.

To promote and advocate for film and media professionals in West Michigan.

• To advocate for economic incentives to encourage the growth of the media production industry.

• To promote community among media production professionals in order to build capacity.

Develop our Crew Base, Talent, & Infrastructure:

• Host quarterly networking events at local studios & community event spaces.

• Ensure timely & relevant communication through industry-standard platforms.

• Foster educational opportunities and investment in trade skills.  

Advocate for Film & Media Industry Economic Incentives:

• Provide effective communication opportunities between media professionals and legislators.

• Research and present relevant economic data about the media industry to legislators.

• Educate the general public on the importance of the media production industry.

Build Public Support and Recognition of the Film & Media Industry: 

• Encourage public attendance at film and other media industry events. 

• Highlight the cultural contributions of film and media professionals in West Michigan. 

• Profile testimonials of legislators, professionals, and others who support the significant economic impact of the media production industry.
